Biographie Akon

Akon, de son vrai nom Aliaune Thiam, est né en 1979 au Sénégal. Ses parents quittent ce pays pour s'installer aux Etats-Unis où le jeune garçon découvre une nouvelle culture musicale et plus particulièrement le hip-hop.
Il doit à son père (Mor Thiam), percussionniste, l'amour de la musique et cette passion ne le quitte jamais, surtout dans les pires moments qu'il passe en prison pour de menus larcins. Là, Akon peaufine ses textes et s'accroche avec courage et conviction à la musique.
Il a raison car à sa sortie, après avoir fait le tour de quelques maisons de disques avec une maquette il est engagé pour sortir un album qui verra le jour en 2004.
"Trouble" est un agréable mélange de hip-hop et de soul, un style qui lui est bien particulier et les tubes "Locked Up" ou "Lonely" se vendent par millions d'exemplaire aux States comme en Europe. Son second album, "Konvicted", sorti fin 2006, dans la lignée du précédent avec entre autre le tube "Smack That" enregistré avec Eminem

ais, Akon a débarqué aux États-Unis à l'âge de sept ans. Le chef de sa famille est le légendaire percussionniste et musicien de jazz Mor Thiam, réputé pour être un joueur de djembé "inégalable". Le fait d'avoir grandi dans une famille où le talent de musicien est apprécié et la maîtrise d'un instrument considérée comme source de plaisir a eu une influence considérable sur Akon.

Malgré une jeunesse semée d'embûches avec la justice dans le New Jersey, Akon a inversé la vapeur. Après avoir pratiqué plusieurs instruments à percussion, il s'est finalement passionné pour la culture et la musique hip-hop. Une fois que le hip-hop s'est emparé de sa vie, Akon a énormément évolué sur le plan musical en canalisant son énergie dans l'écriture et la production de sa musique.

La musique d'Akon est un savant mélange de hip-hop mâtiné de soul, chanté par une voix africaine qui a gardé son grain et donne un accent world au tout. Akon est un auteur-compositeur-interprète et producteur bourré de talent, comme le montre "Locked Up", le premier extrait de cet album Trouble où Akon narre son passage par la case prison.
